Your plan, from paperwork to practice

Your plan documents describe the arrangement. Your daily records show how it is actually operated. Start by organizing both.

01

Know the people

Identify the sponsoring business, trustee, and participants from the executed documents. Each has a different role. Keep contact details current and use the correct plan information when opening accounts.

02

Know the documents

Locate the executed plan package and any later amendments. A draft is different from a signed document. An old version may help explain history, while current instructions should come from the applicable documents.

03

Create a working record

Keep account-opening records, funding confirmations, and transaction documents in separate folders. The person performing a task should record when it was completed and what supports that conclusion.

Put The Knowledge To Work

Your preparation checklist.

  • Locate the signed plan package
  • Confirm the plan name and responsible people
